What does the smooth sound of a well-tuned instrument have to do with mathematics? Why are bubbles always round? And what do water, ketchup and cake batter all have in common? School students can get answers to all these fascinating questions and more from professors in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Konstanz. During their talks, professors use everyday language to explain mathematical thinking and how the school subject often has a lot more to do with day-to-day activities than people might think at first.

Do you teach maths at a school, and would you like to open your students' eyes to the world of mathematics in a unique way? Then the initiative Prof(at)School is a great opportunity to invite a Konstanz professor to give a 45 to 60-minute talk at your school. Or you can even visit the university with your class. Choose from a wide range of interesting topics for different age levels (from 5th grade through the final year of school). The programme is offered free of charge for schools.

If you would like to have a professor visit your school, you are welcome to email the Prof(at)School team in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Konstanz. Choose from any of the topics listed in the overview on the Prof@School website from the Department of Mathematics
